1. Scope & Non-Commercial Research Purpose
This application operates strictly for private, non-commercial health quantification, multi-modal biomarker research, and self-study. It is not offered as a commercial service, SaaS product, or public mobile application. Access to the Ōura API is limited exclusively to the authorized account holder within Systematic Capital Management LLC.
2. Categories of Information Accessed via the Ōura API
Upon user authorization via Ōura OAuth2, this application queries the following data endpoints:
- Profile & Demographic Data: Biological sex, age, height, weight, and account email.
- Sleep Architecture Telemetry: Total sleep duration, bedtime windows, awake time, deep sleep, light sleep, REM sleep durations, sleep efficiency, sleep latency, restfulness, and 5-minute hypnogram sequences.
- Cardiovascular Telemetry: Nightly resting heart rate (RHR), lowest heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV rMSSD), and continuous 5-minute intraday daytime/nighttime heart rate readings.
- Thermal & Recovery Data: Skin temperature deviation from personal baseline (Δ°C), temperature trends, readiness scores, and recovery indices.
- Activity & Energy Metrics: Daily step counts, active calorie burn, total calorie expenditure, and equivalent walking distance.
- Respiratory & Oxygenation: Nightly blood oxygen saturation (&SpO2) averages and breathing disturbance counts.
- Ring Hardware & Diagnostic Metadata: Ring generation model (e.g., Gen 3, Gen 4), ring finish, ring size, firmware revision, and setup timestamp.
3. Multi-Modal Health Data Synthesis (Bloodwork & MRI)
The application correlates continuous Ōura biometrics with:
- Factor-Analyzed Laboratory Bloodwork: Longitudinal diagnostic blood draws (including lipid particle counts, ApoB, hs-CRP, metabolic panels, complete blood count, and liver transaminases).
- Quantitative MRI Imaging: Structural cross-sectional imaging data (including hepatic proton density fat fraction PDFF, visceral adiposity volumetrics, and sarcopenia metrics).
4. Local-First Storage & Data Security
Zero External Cloud Storage: All biometric records retrieved from Ōura are transmitted over
TLS 1.3 encrypted connections and saved directly into a private, local SQLite database (labs.sqlite)
residing on an offline physical workstation.
No Ōura user tokens, biometrics, or personal identifiers are stored on shared web hosting servers, external third-party databases, or public cloud buckets. Local credentials (such as OAuth tokens) are kept strictly within private, gitignored configuration files.
5. Zero Third-Party Disclosure & Non-Sale of Data
We do not sell, rent, monetize, license, or disclose personal health information to any third parties, advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers. Health data is used exclusively to generate internal longitudinal research correlations.
6. Retention, Disconnection & Data Deletion
The user maintains complete control over Ōura data at all times:
- Revoking Access: You can revoke this application's access at any time by visiting the Ōura Cloud Settings page at cloud.ouraring.com/settings and removing authorization for this application.
- Local Data Deletion: Because all records are stored locally, deleting the local SQLite database completely purges all retrieved biometric observations from the system.
7. Compliance with Ōura Developer Terms
This application complies strictly with the Ōura API Agreement and Developer Terms, honoring user privacy, rate limits, caching policies, and data handling requirements.
